Iggy Pop: Singer For Hire

How would YOU like to have legendary singer Iggy Pop perform on YOUR album? Imagine how impressed your friends will be! At a reasonable price, Iggy Pop will sing with YOU. What are you waiting for? Call this number right now. Operators are standing by!

I kid, I kid. The man is a legend, he can do what he wants. But breno's post about Joe Jackson had a link to a goofy Iggy/Jackson duet of "It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" which reminded me of how I seem to see Iggy popping up all over the place. Sure, he did that song "Candy" with one of B52s, and I really liked his Debby Harry duet "Well Did You Evah" on the "Red Hot & Blue" comp back in the '90s, but lately (like Elvis) he is everywhere. What else would go in a giant Iggy + friends box set? I've got:

"Punkrocker" with the Teddybears
"Monster Man" a French kid's TV show theme
"I Felt The Luxury" w/Medeski Martin & Wood
"C'est Si Bon" w/Thomas Dutronc & Diane Krall
"Hollywood Affair" w/Johnny Depp
"I'll Be Seeing You" w/Francoise Hardy
"Stray Dog" w/New Order

Which is apparently just the tip of the iceberg. Oh gawd, discogs lists a million appearances. Really, a Kylie Minogue christmas album?! Oi. Where to begin... Any recommendations out of this lot?

Don’t know this one. I like The Boss Martians, thanks.

Another one I have: covering “Sunshine Superman” (?!) and “Why Can’t We Live Together” on an album by veteran funky jazz organist Lonnie Smith.

He does some pretty nice stuff on the Jamie Saft album Loneliness Road, along with Steve Swallow and Bobby Previte.

He did a song with French novelist Michel Houellebecq.
