Here's a name I never imagined would be resurrected. The Divine Horsemen have a new record coming out in August. It's a lot like Chris D.'s last Flesh-Eaters album - a mix of new songs, re-recorded old songs and covers. DJ Bonebrake plays drums.

Details.

Happy to add it to my list, unless someone wants to jump on it.

Wow, great news. Looking forward to this.

I’ve really come to appreciate Chris D’s work more and more over the years.

Have you read any of his books? I haven't, not being a cinephile - just curious.

The book I bought is “A Minute to Pray, A Second to Die" - a big, fat archive of lyrics (and with a strangulated vocal delivery like his, you do need to read em), poems, short stories, essays, autobiographical bits, excerpts from novels, and some really funny dream diary excerpts.
Quite the treasure trove.

His film scholarship work is mentioned, but he doesn’t really delve into it.

I think he was somewhat overlooked during the whole post-punk/college-rock/SST heyday, but his creaminess does seem to be rising towards the top.
