You're welcome! And you chose the song I would have recommended had you asked.

Good job digging up that Star Fleet. Forgot all about that!

Ha-ha-haah, I'm glad to know somebody dug the Brian May track. My wife found it laughable! She asked me when that album was released; when I told her, she laughed even harder. "It must've sounded dated the week it came out!"

Doing a worthwhile tribute to Eddie was kind of a challenge, because he did so few recordings outside of Van Halen. Sure, I could've filled an hour with worthwhile Van Halen tracks (including my favorite, "Little Guitars"), but I was hoping to do something a little different.

Good work on the EVH tribute.

However, speaking of another part of the set, whenever I hear a Led Zep track, I am reminded that I have never liked Led Zep, and indeed it was one of the reasons I sought out different music back in the late 1970s/early 1980s as these guys dominated the airwaves....

Speaking of the same timeframe, I hadn't heard that Jackson Browne song in maybe four decades, I had never paid it any particular attention, and somehow all of its lyrics were still imbedded in my brain. Memory is a strange thing.

Delvin,

You might like this ska/Van Halen mash up that a friend of mine recorded a few years ago: https://vimeo.com/227498706.

He also released a terrific ska album a little over a decade ago that had songs that referenced King/Kubrick's The Shining ("Dull Boy"), Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes, Saturday Night Fever ("Dance with You"), An American Werewolf in London, and covered Hendrix's "Castles Made of Sand." Here's my write up from back then: http://duffguidetoska.blogspot.com/2008/09/duff-review-rice-rokit-hang-loose.html.

Best,

Steve
