Save Your Face rarities blog

I'm not at all interested in the Grateful Dead, the main focus of the Save Your Face MP3 blog: [saveyourface.posthaven.com]. But it has also posted rarities like a flexidisc-only song released by the Gang of Four in 1982 and a homemade compilation of singles from Jim Thirlwell/Foetus released in 1984. The blog's love of improvised jamming extends to '70s Miles Davis, and it has also put up live tapes from TP-friendly artists like the Clash and Elvis Costello.

True story: I attended a Grateful Dead concert at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in 1971 and left at intermission, bored stiff. So I can relate to that. Ten years later, as a freelancer for a Cleveland entertainment weekly, I interviewed Gang of Four. I wanted to ask them about their music; all they wanted to talk about was revolutionary politics and the need to enlighten the masses. Bored stiff again.

locutor, that's hilarious! But better for bands to be boring in interviews and not in their music.
