hey all

any opinions about worthwhile music web-sites offering downloads (for purchase) other than iTunes?

i have been using eMusic for a few years now and on the whole it has been a really good & economical way to enjoy new music on the cheap (i think i pay somthing like $20 per month for 90 tracks)

Actually limewire's ok for chart toppers but if you want full album's or rare stuff you need soulseek Its the best one so far and works like a bit torrent so you almost always get what it says it is. A 4-5 star program and its free

Yep, Soulseek's da bomb. Not only rare CDs, but out-of-print vinyl turns up. And I read it's not as popular as other p2ps, so it's not as likely that The Man will go after it.

But it's not for purchase...

This checks server status.

Soulseek replaced KaZaa over a year ago as the #1 P2P.
Hard to imagine anyone still using LimeWire, KaZaa, BearShares, etc.
It's community/open source; something the others can't compete against.
