If your idea of fun encompasses be-bopping pseudo-swingtime, then the nostalgic Stargazers — one of London’s ’80s throwbacks — may be for you. Five young men dressed in powder-blue Buddy Holly jackets adorn the LP’s front cover; the music inside combines elements of early ’50s rock in the Bill Haley mode with the shoutalong big band jive of Cab Calloway. It’s fine if you’re into such campy silliness; however, if either the Stray Cats or Joe Jackson’s Jumpin’ Jive digression leaves you cold don’t make this date.
