Just Water

  • Just Water
  • The Riff (Branded) 1977

These Who-influenced Brooklynites made their homebrew LP a year before causing some international excitement with their rocked-up single of “Singing in the Rain,” which almost became the first new wave indie hit in the US. The Riff displays solid yet subtle guitars’n’drums rock, but is shackled by clumsy lyrics and poor vocals. Talented but unrealized, Just Water broke up around 1979.
