East of Eden

Slick and soul-free, this Boston quintet (with a name recycled from the ’70s British rock-with-violin band) fronted by singer/songwriter Cinde Lager displays an efficiently modern keyboard/guitar sound — equally beholden (indirectly) to the Pretenders and Simple Minds — and weak material on its dull debut, which Roy Thomas Baker produced.
