Demons

  • Demons
  • The Demons (Mercury) 1977

This third-rate New York rock-pop band used to open shows for the Dictators when both were coming up through the city’s underground scene. Someone with a major-label checkbook must have mistaken the Demons for punks; in fact, they were glitter leftovers minus the makeup. This dire album, produced by Craig Leon, is notable (not commendable) only for containing cover versions of “I Fought the Law” and “(S)he’s a Rebel.”
