An odd hybrid from Boston: one minute the band is playing jumpy ska punctuated by heavy rock’n’roll guitar solos; the next they’re on to straight Scandal-ized MOR and clumsy funk. The vocals (female lead, male backing) have the smooth commerciality of pop and provide the band’s dominant characteristic. The net sense these four tunes convey is skill in search of purpose.
