All That Jazz

  • All That Jazz
  • All That Jazz (Wire/Virgin) 1987

Produced on its debut album by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley (somebody must have owed someone a favor), this glib Swedish dance-pop quintet plays a modest variation on the sound of bands like Duran Duran and Berlin. Peter Leaf’s voice and English are adequate (if too easily moved to melodramatic overzealousness); the functional songs are derivative and not all that catchy. Total crap.
