Given the pleasant-but-plain lightweight modern American rock, the most striking thing about this Washington, DC band is its name. The first album, produced — surprisingly — with no élan by the usually effective Alan Winstanley, contains a track called “New Wave Girls” that proves just how disconnected these guys were. In more recent years, an R&B group has been using the 4o5D name.
