Time for my weekly review of your no-less weekly show, 801.

More known artists than usual this week, including some real old-timers. Still, the best two songs in my view were the two book-ends (first and last songs played), both by bands I had never heard from (good work there, as usual). The song by Lou Doillon was also quite good, although I don't need to tell you you botched the pronunciation of her last name. The songs by 3LH and Alex Maas both sounded like they had dropped in from a time warp in 1965 or so, but in the best possible way. And it seems like Kiwi Jr. are looking to claim the title of most Canadian band ever from the Tragically Hip, what with dropping to references to Toronto landmarks in the first three verses or so...

Keep it up, I really enjoy listening. If you take requests, Cloud Nothings have a new single out, from album that should drop in next February. It's quite good and would fit right in, in my modest opinion.

Rest assured, the new Cloud Nothings single has made the short list for next week’s show... winking smiley

I was thrilled to have so many “old-timers” to trot out this last go ‘round — they certainly managed to hold their own against the latest crop of upstarts, unknowns and up ‘n comers...
