InTransition Setlist (2020.06.16)

Like Delvin, my community radio show continues to be done remote at home under quarantine and uploaded for broadcast. The results are perfunctory at best, but at least it goes out. What it may lack in 'personality', it more than makes up for in brand spankin' new music... cool smiley

Here's last night's setlist for InTransition on WSLR Sarasota (follow the links or visit the archive and hear for yourself):

Wow - I know only a half-dozen or so of these artists/bands! I'll have to give this a listen later today to see what I've been missing out on.

Thank you. I try to make it a unique experience each week, which means you may hear from the same artist over time but songs are never repeated.

I certainly can't say that.

And I wouldn’t expect you to, Delvin. What YOU do is so unique and awesome. The themes and threads you weave make me jealous of how effortless you make it all sound. My show was borne out of an inherent need to not do what any of my other fellow programmers were/are doing as I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. Thus, I wave the New Music banner for two hours every week and hope for the best...so far, so good.

Thanks, 801, you're very kind. I think what you said -- "an inherent need to not do what any of my other fellow programmers were/are doing" -- describes every independent/college DJ who ever sat down at the console. I've met plenty of outstanding DJs, but I don't want to copy any of their work.

Speaking of effortless, a colleague of mine likes to play my program on the radio when his regular Friday poker game is at his house. One night, one of his poker buddies commented on how effortless I make it all sound.

"Oh, effortless doesn't begin to cover it," my colleague said. "We're talking about one seriously lazy motherfucker."
