How I wished I purchased Alan Vega's Jukebox Babe/Collision Drive when I had the chance at Tower Records back in 1999. Now they're selling it used on Amazon.com from $110 to $300. For a fucking CD!!!

Santa, if you're reading this, I want it for Christmas. Look, I don't ask for that much. I've been a good boy this year. I ain't paying that kind of money for a fucking CD!! Excuse the language, Santa.

If it's out of print, it's fair game for the music bloggers and peer-to-peers (cough *soulseek*cough). Might be worth poking around the inter-webs a bit for it.

I had been bin diggin' all day and already spent my quota when I stupidly went in one more store and saw the then new The THE This Is the Day gatefold double 7" for sale. I almost drove across town to try and borrow some cash to buy it, but didn't and of course it was gone a few days later when I went back.

It took me years to find it again and of course by then it had increased like 10-fold in price - ended up paying about $75 for it I think, but the hunt still made it worth it! =)

Speaking of Ho Ho Ho, anyone wanna get me this for xmas?!

I've said before that I really regret not picking Big Black's Bulldozer EP with that nifty acid-etched cover when it sat there for probably a year in the record store I frequented as a high schooler. I think no one - including me - knew what the hell it was. Dunno what it goes for now, but I'm sure I could recoup the $7 or $8 I woulda paid for it....

That was pretty gruesome. A buddy of mine got it (and still has it), thinking it would be worth a shit-ton of money someday. I think it hasn't quite skyrocketed the way he hoped. One more reason to curse Bush and this fucking economy!

I knew this guy at school who was really into The Birthday Party. In a discount bin for $2, he found a copy of the extremely rare Lethal Weapons compilation on white vinyl that contained The Boys Next Door doing Masturbation Generation and These Boots Are Made For Walking.
He told me “I never knew Cave started off doing such shit, so I took it out to the backyard and karate chopped it in half”

Funny I have that (Lethal Weapons) and that probably isn't the most inappropriate death for it - it's definitely a historical footnote rather than an enjoyable listen - frighteningly sounds WAY TOO MUCH like Generation X.

I also have that Crome boxset and I hate reissues that destroy market value. =P
I took a big loss when A Bestiary Of (The Creatures) came out, as I had all of those singles and the only previous CD release of Feast (Japan Polydor) which was worth a fortune. =(

That's why I convert and sell all my shit; I've subsidized the industry equal to about 500 consumers I would guess; and what do they do for me in return - ruin my investments! winking smiley

I used to regret that I never picked up the Chrome box set some years ago and since then it was always going for $50 and up. Then, a little over of month ago I saw several on ebay that were new and at reasonable prices. I checked and Cleopatra had reissued it so I managed to get it cheaper than I would have when I originally saw it. So you never know.
