DRINKING ELECTRICITY (Buy CDs by this artist) Overload (UK Survival) 1982 In keeping with rock's prevalent organization trend of the '80s, Drinking Electricity is a duo: he plays synth and guitar, she sings. Joined by a guest bassist, these Londoners play simple, rather plain synth-rock with a strong electronic beat and thin ancillary instrumentation. Unlike such successful proponents of the genre as Soft Cell, Eurythmics and Blancmange, however, their songs are dull and the vocals colorless, which leaves virtually nothing of merit.
