Convincing Marshall Chess (as in Chess Records) to co-produce this record was one of the few accomplishments of this New York band’s short career. Singer/songwriter Brad Ellis delivers pompous lyrics in a stentorian voice that misses being Bryan Ferry by a yard while the music similarly fails in its would-be simulation of Roxy Music.
