The Henry Rollins show on IFC has a wealth of good musical guests - recently saw Shane mumble (in a compelling way) thru "Dirty Old Town," Manu Chow, Stooges. Sinead O'Conner's coming up. Gotta get one of them cable/satellite thingies tho.

I see that the movie ROLLERCOASTER is going to be on the Encore Channel a few times the next few days. Check it out to see the BIG BEAT era Sparks performing "Big Boy" and "Fill 'er Up."

I think they do "Fell 'er Up", anyway. I know they do "Big Boy," and that it was even the soundtrack for the commercials for that rather cruddy film. But I remember how cool it was back in 1977 or whenever it was to suddenly hear Sparks booming out of a commercial.

Also, since PBS stations air AUSTIN CITY LIMITS on their own timetables, it may or may not have already aired in your area - but if you haven't seen Cafe Tacuba's appearance on ACL, check it out. Definite contenders for the title of Best Band on the Planet right at the moment. (The first half of the episode is Blues Traveller, who don't annoy me anywhere near as much now as they did 10 years ago. Now that they aren't clogging up the airwaves anymore, I can actually step back and say they weren't really that bad.)

It was more difficult for me. I couldn't make it past "BT" (i won't sully the board further) and therefore missed Cafe Tacuba.
