Saw STARDUST tonight - delightful movie, that Neil Gaiman can spin a yarn all right - but was distressed to note that Claire Danes has grown into being a dead ringer for Courtney Love.

Klaus Nomi biopic?

The Ian Curtis movie is due this fall, I believe. Bernie Albrecht Sumner vouches for it and claims the only inaccurate thing in it is that it shows Peter Hook smoking, which he apparently did not do.

Be interesting to see if Anton Corbijn can make the jump to being a feature director.

As far as I know, the Strummer doc is out in the dreaded select markets. Which means if you don't live in NYC, LA and maybe Chicago, resign yourself to wait for the dvd.

Actually the Klaus Nomi biopic came out a while ago, and turned out to be very good actually; aside from a couple of songs I can take/leave his music nowadays but the biopic holds up to multiple viewings.

The Germs film came and went at the Los Angeles Film Festival. I think the Joy Division film already opened in England.

The Roky Erikson film is on the road. I'l finally get to see it in Sept.

There's a Cramps movie?

They're streaming "She's Lost Control" - not sure if it's the original or a recreation for the movie. But now I definitely need to re-listen to the original to find out if Ian Curtis really did sound as much like Homer Simpson as he does on this website.

EDIT: Thank God. Just listened to a quick clip on iTunes and he does not.

Good thing Peter Hook doesn't smoke. Fron what I've gathered, he's usually been so drunk that he probably would've burned his own schnozz, trying to light a cigarette.

I've always thought Hook's bass playing was far superior to Jordan Catalano's guitar skills, though.
