Evan 'Funk' Davies? I miss his show - is it ever returning to WFMU?

As one of the resident DC-ites, I will note that the discussion at Politics and Prose is apparently at their Union Market location near Byrdland Records, much closer to my house than the prime store on Upper Connecticut Avenue.

Really enjoyed last night's discussion with Tony Fletcher about POW! It was a pretty decent group of people at Politics and Prose, many of them seem to have been big fans of the Jam and the mods. And the usual crew of aging punk rockers, etc.

I found the discussion all very engaging even though not all that music is specifically close to my heart; I'm a slightly younger generation so it was latter-1980s and 1990s alternative music that I grew up on, not the stuff from the late 1970s and early 1980s as is covered in Fletcher's book.

Got my book in the mail last week! Thanks for the note, Ira!

I'll also note the presence of the amazing Powell's Books here in Portland, which would be a lovely venue for an event....

I'll endorse Rhett's recommendation, having visited Powell's more than once, whenever I've had the pleasure of spending time in Portland.
