Hello all, Stephen Desaulniers here, bass player for the Scud Mountain Boys. I have some sad news to relate. Our dear friend of almost 40 years, Bruce Tull, passed away early this morning, after a short illness. He was the heart and soul of our band. His approach to life, and to music, was unique in our experience. A gentle, kind, and generous man of many talents, he left a lifetime of memories to cherish, for which we will be forever grateful.
There will be much more to say after we’ve all had time to process this, and we’ll all get together at some point to throw a really big party to see him off properly, of course. One thing, for now, to share: Bob Pernice, Joe’s brother, after meeting Bruce for the first time, said to me, Tom, and Joe, “You could go your whole life and not ever meet another guy like that.” So very true. Farewell, old friend. You most certainly left your mark.
