Keyboardist for Jethro Tull, who started life as David Palmer. Details here.

On Tull's 1979 live album Bursting Out, there's a moment on Side A when Ian Anderson is introducing his bandmates. He concludes those introductions with: "And from the Royal Academy of Music, London, Mr David Palmer ... uhh, he's gone for a piss, but he'll be back in a moment."

After the ensuing song, Anderson introduces the next selection, and then adds, "Ahhh, David! David's back ... Did you give it a good shake? Good."

Strangely ... prescient? Anti-prescient? I'm not quite sure of the appropriate word that would apply to that moment, considering Palmer's future transition.

Rest in peace, Ms Palmer.
