Radio Ethiopia took its lumps, but I always thought its main sin was not measuring up to Horses, as if anything could.

And while I think suggesting listening to Double Fantasy is a good rejoinder anytime someone starts speculating that John Lennon would've ended up recording industrial albums or something if he'd lived longer, it was a great sounding album of likable enough Dad Rock on Lennon's cuts. And Yoko's stuff was of course good, too.

Yeah, Horses will always be my favorite, but Radio Ethiopia is a great album too.

And I've actually grown to appreciate Double Fantasy, as in the entire album. Jack Douglas gave at least one interview where he discussed Lennon being perfectly aware that he was going to get blowback for not doing a harder and edgier sounding album, but that was part of the point - he was a parent (again but much more engaged) and moved on to a different life, and the songs were about that.
