Record Store Day

Did anyone pick up RSD releases today? I was tempted by THE DIAMOND SEA, but I hope it'll turn up on streaming eventually.

I picked up the XTC live recording from 1981.

I didn't get there early to wait in line, though. I just went to my local store after lunch; the store was still crowded with shoppers, but I didn't have to wait in line. Getting a copy was no problem.

The 12” zoetrope picture disc of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” is pretty awesome.

Record Store Day? I just found out about it the day prior when a friend asked me what CDs might be worth getting, as he had committed to buying a 7" for a friend. After laughing at his inquiry for CDs [it's called RECORD Store day for a reason] I looked and there were actually five this year! Maybe that Much Vaunted CD Renaissance is real? But none of them were inspiring. Nor were any of the many, many records. I get so depressed that I'm going into my golden years with everything on records again. I could hardly wait to leave them behind in my twenties!

My kid (he's 20) turned up to Redeye Records with a list of five RSD items. He came out with one. Instinct by The Moles. He scoffed when I said I'd shared the bill with them a couple of times.

I just found THE DIAMOND SEAS on YouTube. Both sides of the album were posted by this channel.
