Rip it up some more and start yet again

Simon Reynolds is releasing a follow-up to his beloved post-punk history book Rip It Up and Start Again (soon to be a major motion picture.......maybe?) covering the years 1984-94, examining the rise of indie-rock and shoegaze and presumably whatever else was in there.

I learned a lot from Rip It Up and Start Again. The sequel covers years in which I was paying more attention (thanks to the Trouser Press Record Guide), but I'm sure I'll learn just as much from it.

Good news. I liked the first book quite a lot. I just hope there is only one version and not an American and UK one.

Like my favorite music writing, Simon’s stuff makes me want to keep reading way past bedtime .… sounds like something I’d petition my local library to pick up (that’s my thing I do)
