Just stumbled across this 15 year old jazz version of Gary Numan's "Slowcar to China" by a Czech combo.

I don't care much for the vocals, but otherwise it makes for a damn nice lounge jazz workout. Just kind of weird to think of some Czech dudes sitting around listening to Dance and deciding "This needs to be a jazz number!"

They also do "Spirits in the Material World," but I haven't bothered listening to that yet. That particular song was when I first began pondering how long I was going to stay on the Sting train and I don't have a lot of curiosity for cover versions of it.

Apparently the Robert Balzar Trio is a big deal on the Czech jazz scene.

"Slowcar To China" already is a Jazz number, by my reckoning.

The bassist for the jazz trio does pretty much just quote Mick Karn's original performance verbatim.
