American friends, I seek your guidance.
On consecutive days at the same local venue in March, Comets On Fire and the BellRays are playing. Toddler wrangling duty dictates that I can only get away for one of these evenings.
Which one do I choose?

i have never seen COF but their last makes my top 10 list of a strong 2006

the bellrays kick absolute ass live

On a practical note, I'd say go see the band you've never seen before.

That said, the BellRays are absolutely the greatest live rock & roll band in the universe. And they spend more time in Europe than in the States these days, so opportunities to see 'em aren't as common as they used to be.

Well, that show was last night. BellRays was the correct option, it was fantastic, even taking into account the Elaine-dancing basketball player next to me for a large portion.
