R.I.P.: Jamie Klimek

Cleveland legend Jamie Klimek: The Styrenes, The Mirrors, the electric eels. Yep, that's him on the classic "Drano In Your Veins" (a version of which appeared on a Trouser Press comp). The man was punk before punk. Heck, he was post-punk before punk.

After a long illness. Can't find anything on-line, Just heard from a WFMU DJ who was pals with him for years.

Similarly, I’ve referred to Styrenes, Eels, and Mirrors as ‘prepunk post-punk.’
Feel fortunate to have seen them quite a bit when they reactivated in the early ‘90s. Klimek always ripped, while looking totally down to earth.

Prepunk post-punk is the best new genre variation I've heard in years. Sounds like something Stigs would come up with.
