I was going to see him last week when he canceled the rest of his tour due to illness but had no idea it was this serious. Very sad, I discovered his first three ‘90s albums over the pandemic (Intervention Records, an audiophile label, was selling signed copies to help him offset the lost income when he couldn’t tour) and they’re pretty awesome, including the EP he put out in the interim.

Horrible news. I've been a fan since his days in Oh-OK.

It has to especially suck to have a stroke in a civilized country like Canada but then have to return to his dystopian hellhole of a homeland to rattle a tin cup on the corner in hopes of covering his medical bills.

Very sad to hear. Girlfriend just had an anniversary and some friends were posting about it yesterday.

The GoFundMe has been extremely successful so far. Sweet's management quickly hit the $250,000 goal and upped it to $400,000...
