The Chris Cross Ultravox Collection Consignment Auction

Wow! I've never seen anything like this before, but it is fascinating. I was searching for something on YouTube ("headless guitar reviews" if you must know), and this video popped up. It's from an auction company that is selling Chris Cross's collection of over 300 items related to his music career:

"The collection consists of over 300 lots of guitars, synths, other instruments, tour merchandise and a good cross section of other ephemera relating to Chris' music career with Ultravox, one of the most influential Synth Pop New Wave bands of the 1980s. The collection will be sold in our auction on 3rd December 2024. Join Auctioneer Luke Hobbs to see a preview of the collection, and find out about the condition and the story behind the guitars and other items on offer."

I didn't have time to watch the entire video now, but I will later. If you are interested in all kinds of old guitars and basses and synths and gold record awards and such, as well as stories behind the instruments (such as the albums Cross used them on, or the videos they featured in), you'll find this quite interesting.

Fascinating captain. I think the silver, gold, and platinum records will sell for more than the £100-200 estimates. The instruments are probably more in line with reality. If I could get Chris' Casio VL-1 for under $80 I'd be tempted! I used to have the 1977 in-store promo shaped like a parallelogram you can see behind the guy talking but I sold mine last year to fund this year's big fat European vacation. I got $250 for mine [it was in better condition] but that one probably has Chris' DNA on it!
