Creepy Jackalope Eye reminds me of the excellent Cortex Records samplers you sometimes got when purchasing certain CDs. On both occasions this happened, I ended up listening to the sampler more.

I was today years old when I learned Elvis Costello also has a cover of "Days." (The Kirsty MacColl cover has always been my go-to.)

It's on the soundtrack to Until the End of the World, a desert island disc for me.

It also ended up on Costello's Kojak Variety covers album, which I have never bothered owning a copy of.

I actually wrote to my state congressman, back in the Nineties, encouraging him to submit a bill to adopt "Creepy Jackalope Eye" as the official rock song of Colorado. (I really wanted him to submit a bill to replace "Rocky Mountain High" entirely, but I figured he might balk at that.)

Fuck John Denver, and anything having anything to do with him. What's more truly Coloradan than the jackalope?
