That led to his signing with Del Fi Records, the same label that had signed Ritchie Valens. Del Fi then released Romero's definitive recording of his song, though the Beatles did a great rendition that was preserved by the BBC. Romero was later the first Latino to be inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
