Zip It Up
March 14, 2024 11:24AM
It's been a dark and stormy morning in my neighborhood, with severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings. But when I opened my front door just now to check for my mail, the clouds parted and bright sunshine bathed the porch where my copy of Zip It Up! The Best of Trouser Press Magazine sat waiting. This is a true story.

Can't wait to dive into the thing.

Got mine over the weekend! It's a pretty massive tome, so I hope you are able to resurface after you dive in!

Nice! Robert Christgau just posted a Substack article where he shows how his record collection is organized (which is enormous, much moreso when you factor in the books he and his wife have as well) and it's interesting to see how you all organize them. The pullout drawers for the CD's is brilliant, and I wish I had that 5 years ago when a negligent contractor nearly destroyed everything I had. That was basically my lockdown activity, cleaning everything up then replacing what was lost via a cash settlement that took nearly all of 2020. (The expense wasn't a problem, it was just finding good copies of stuff that was out-of-print.)
