Granted, this came solely from my own limited perspective and knowledge ... but I always assumed that Be Bop Deluxe spent little or no time touring North America. I certainly don't remember ever talking to anyone who saw the band onstage.
Out of curiosity, though, I did a search for Be Bop Deluxe in setlist.fm. To my surprise, the group did a fair amount of Stateside touring from 1976 to 1978. And they didn't do the typical British-band-flyover tours ... you know, like the one Madness is doing this spring. By my reckoning, they played concerts in 28 states, covering just about every region of the country -- from the typical big-city gigs to smaller markets in states like West Virginia, Indiana, Kansas and North Dakota. Indeed, the Rocky Mountain states appear to be the only significant portion of the U.S. that Be Bop Deluxe never touched down in. (Not that it would've benefited me, as I didn't "discover" the band until long after they'd split up.)
This begs the question: did anyone here ever see Be Bop Deluxe?
