Animals is the only PF vinyl I've kept all these years.
In college I went to a party where Animals was being presented. There were these stoner friends-of-friends who were rapt-up deep into Floyd-dom. As the resident collector-geek (and therefore, at the time, an assumed Floyd-head) the attention turned to me:
"So which Animal are
you*?"
I remember replying, to their buzz-killing dismay:
"I'm not a person that can be categorized by f-ing Roger Waters!"
At the time I hated Floyd and felt they were a phase that high-schoolers went through, though less so than the Doors (who I still dislike).
I can appreciate Gilmour's work, today; though a little Waters still goes a long ways.

Waters neatly categorizes all people he hates as either Dogs, Pigs, or Sheep, ala Orwell's Animal Farm.
