Sad to hear that the daughter of The King left us at age 54. One of her many husbands, e.g.: the ones not named "Nicholas Cage" or "Michael Jackson," was a feller named Michael Lockwood, who was in the '80s band Lions and Ghosts. I don't see a TP entry for them, but they were pretty hot for a bit - popular club draw, a British Invasion-meets-roots rock sound tailor-made for college radio, slightly glammy look, signed to a major, but their two albums never really took off. I saw em a couple times, and knew a girl who LOOOOVED 'em...wonder if she heard Lisa Marie's accusations that Lockwood collected kiddie porn...
I remember at the time thinking that Lions and Ghosts were ok, but I don't recall any of their songs really sticking with me. Guess they were good enough, tho: they have a still-active website, their stuff has been re-released, and Lockwood went on to work with not only his missus, but a number of folks I imagine plenty of you like: Susanna Hoffs, Josie Cotton, Sylvain Sylvain, Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann, Jon Brion, and another star progeny, Bijou Phillips.
I bet it never occurred to Lockwood in the days when I saw Lions and Ghosts play places like the notorious Hollywood club Raji's (the joint pictured on the orig. sleeve of Nirvana's "Sliver" 45) that one day he would father Elvis Presley's grandkids...
