"Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die" – Robert Gordon
"Boys from the County Hell" – The Pogues (Darryl Hunt)
"Chicken Farm" – Dead Kennedys (D.H. Peligro)
"Flowers of Romance" – Public Image Ltd. (Keith Levene)

"Rattlesnake Roll" – Wizzard (Rick Price)

And yet, even that list is incomplete. Coincidentally, I was listening to a similar program on my local alt-rock radio station as I was reading your list, and among the first artists played were The Sadies (Dallas Good) and Jon and Vangelis (Vangelis ) both absent from your list (as well as a number who were).

You could have swapped Jerry Lee Lewis for Loretta Lynn. I know you don't play country on your show but Jack White's endorsements could help with an exemption.

Believe me, I know the list is incomplete. I had to make last-minute (well, last-week) cuts to the list. Rachel Nagy from the Detroit Cobras was another one.

2016 was the big overload year. I only managed to fill that list properly by including artists who'd died covering other artists who'd died. I didn't see any opportunities to do that, this year.

I had a caller last night who seemed kind of shy and hesitant on the phone. "Ummm, great show ... uhhh ... it's nice of you to remember all these people ... ummm ..." She seemed to want to get something out, but sounded as if she was nervous about just coming right out and saying it. Finally, she asked, "Are you gonna include Olivia Newton-John?"

Understood, it's all good. I appreciate the show and have like every episode I've heard and know there will be more great shows ahead. Happy New Year.

Cheers then, BCE.

By the way, I did fit in another significant passing today, during the soul/R&B show. I did a tribute block to Thom Bell.

“Rachel Nagy from the Detroit Cobras was another one.” Oof yeah, that was a big one for me. She was awesome. If they never list a cause of death and they’re still young-ish, is it safe to assume it was drugs?
