"Morowitz and his high school friend Jeff Price launched spinArt after college in the early 1990’s when the former wanted to put out a compilation album of indie rock bands and the latter asked if he could help. The resulting album, One Last Kiss, launched the label which eventually put out music by The Apples in Stereo, Velocity Girl, Clem Snide, Ron Sexsmith, Poster Children and Suddenly, Tammy! among many others."

That's sad, SpinArt did good work.
I still have some of their stuff.

I was glad that SpinArt licensed Throw That Beat In The Garbage Can! The rare twee indie pop band from Germany! Man, I loved them! And licensing The Lilac Time was also a very classy move.

Yeah, looking through the label's roster, spinART brought some great artists & records to light. I have a few of their releases on my shelf, particularly the earlier albums by The Apples in Stereo. I also appreciate a label that gives earlier artists of distinction a new home, such as Echo & the Bunnymen, The Church, the Pixies/Frank Black, Paul Kelly and Tommy Keene.

Rest in peace, Joel, and thank you.
