It was 48 years ago today (3/9/74) that we finished stapling the first issue of Trans-Oceanic Trouser Press in my parents' living room and took the subway down to the Academy of Music to flog them on the street in front of the venue, where Rory Gallagher was playing. Our price: 25 cents (cheap).

I'll be brief (for once): Thank you, Ira.

Happy Anniversary, Mr. Robbins! Bless you and the TP team for all the great work you've done through the years.

John Cale's birthday! The British member of the ultimate NYC band. Seems like an auspicious date for TP to have launched.

Jeez. I was all of ten at the time. Sucking down the Top 40 on my transistor radio. Little did I know what would await me six years down the road at the quick mart that fateful afternoon. I was an avid reader for just a few years but it was how I learned a LOT about music. TP was the only music rag I ever really cared about, so a toast to Trouser Press, or "Trouser Pants" as my mom called it!

"Trouser Pants" Haha! Right, that's Ira's new nickname.
