Not to brag, but I've been writing about these folks for a few years now, thanks to their appearances at Jazz:refreshed's annual SXSW show. I've heard the lion's share of the musicians, and talked to some of them about Tomorrow's Warriors and Total Refreshment Center. While Downbeat has been covering Shabaka Hutchings for a while now, they seem to be only now turning the spotlight on the one of the most fertile and interesting music scenes in the world right now. This is still a useful overview, and I recommend reading it and checking out the musicians listed.
