Ken Stringfellow of Posies (whom I liked a lot and have seen several times) has been revealed as a
serial sexual assaulter. Very ugly stuff.
It's especially awful and tragic to hear that Scott Miller's (Game Theory/Loud Family) widow Kristine Chambers Miller was one of the victims. A lot of GT/LF fans were also Posies fans and there was a huge overlap in their work; Stringfellow even helped bring Miller's work to posthumous attention. So there was so much appreciation for Stringfellow in that instance, and now I hear how it ended so violently and awfully. (Kristine has been quoted as one of the people willing to go public about the abuse she suffered, which is the only reason I'm mentioning her by name.)
This all made me think of a show I saw with Stringfellow in Portland in the early 2000s, maybe 2002. He was touring for one of his solo records and asked after the show if he could crash at anyone's place; a friend and I were talking half-seriously about hosting him. But then two attractive women were talking to him and he quickly directed his attention their way. I hope they made it out OK.
