I remember seeing Cheetah on some early '80s music video program, such as Friday Night Videos. The band made enough of an impression on me to buy their album when I saw a copy of it.

I was never one to thumb my nose at lesser-known AOR back then…. I have that Cheetah album also. In my head I lumped them in with Canadian AOR act Toronto (2 females also, but not sisters).

Mighty impressive, Delvin - I only recognize maybe half of the bands!

…For next time, Splendora (Janet and Tricia Wygal).
And if step-sisters count, there’s Throwing Muses.

I wanted to write a song with the chorus, "like singing sisters / Kate and Anna" because those are the two at the forefront of my mind.

The McGarrigle sisters were the first to pop into my mind when I read the theme as well (I'm assuming they are the Kate and Anna to whom you refer)!

Although they’re not my normal cup of tea, I really enjoy their records.

I think I actually picked up ‘French Record’ accidentally when my idiot teenage brain was confusing them and the Roches.

If I ever have cause to write/publish my autobiography, I think I'll call it My Idiot Teenage Brain. (Thanks, Bip!)
