The Residents are hitting the road for the Dog Stab tour, on which they'll play songs from their latest album Metal, Meat & Bone (which is mostly songs by Alvin Snow, AKA Dyin' Dog, who I assume is another Residents character), as well as "revisit" Duck Stab and Reich 'N' Roll. (No clue if "revisit" means "play in their entirety.") I kinda thought they might hang it up after Hardy Fox retired/died, but obviously not.

I've never seen the Residents - indeed, I've only sampled their music from time to time. But they've got an Austin date at a club I like, so I'm thinking this will be the time to indulge.

I've seen them a few times and in the latter years, there has been a larger emphasis on video presentations and not the elaborate stage shows. The last few tours were without Hardy Fox so I'm not too surprised they've kept it going, though "Randy" has got to be getting up there in years. Bypassing DC this time, so I guess I won't be seeing them. One nice thing is that they put out unique posters for each tour date so that is a cool memento to have.

Good to know about the posters! I'm not a huge poster guy, but that's definitely tempting.

Tour is uncancelled, and ready to (eye)roll next month:

No LA dates?! *snaps fingers* Will someone please correct this oversight?

Now at a relocated Austin club in April. I haven't been to the new Parish yet, so maybe I can kill two birds with the Residents' date there.
