Wait, what? (No, not about the Replacements.) The Grammys are being held in the *AFTERNOON?* So the awards show tonight in tape-delay? Whatever network executive made that decision should be fired. This ranks alongside interrupting the Superb Owl for "Heidi" as one of the most facepalm'y moments in broadcast history.

Lots of Grammys are handed out before broadcast, sometimes the day before. If they did every Grammy on the telecast, it would last 12 hours.

Though yes, the performances for the Grammys were taped ahead of time this year (in the last few days, in fact) due to the pandemic.

If you haven't read Bob Mehr's bio of the Mats, I urge you to. Really superb research and writing. It's a book that will make you hate yourself for loving them.

Thanks, but I'm already dealing with those feelings about XTC, thanks to the book of Andy Partridge interviews I read.
