Another great show in spite of some technical glitches around the 1 hour 30 mark that led to a number of skips. I only noted a couple of bands I'd never heard of that I immediately wanted to check out, namely Cathedral Bells and Badwan/Coxon. Regarding the first, i had never heard of Cassadaga, Florida and after looking at a map I'm surprised anything other than country music would come out of that part of the state, but hey, count myself as surprised. As for Badwan/Coxon, it started slowly, but man did that song build up to a great finish !

Even if there were few great new acts, there was plenty of wonderful music from more famous bands. Very good singles by Mogwai, the Chills and Juliana Hatfield in terms of very old favorites, and good stuff from Middle Kids, NewDads, Yung and Thyla in terms of bands you've made me discover over the past few months. And that's in spite of these last two being played right in the middle of the worst of the skipping... I was a bit disappointed by the Teenage Fanclub song, just because the first single from them you played a few weeks ago was so perfect; maybe this one will grow on me.

Re. Cathedral Bells: a Goth-tinged shoegaze band from the self-proclaimed “Psychic Capital of America”? I did not see that coming...

Re. Badwan/Coxon: totally took me by surprise. And even at 9+ minutes, left me wanting more.

Sorry about the glitching - seems to be happening a lot more these days...

Is that Graham Coxon in Badwan/Coxon?

Sadly, no. It’s guitarist John Coxon of Spring Heel Jack / Spiritualized / Treader fame...
