Great show Delvin,

Unfortunately, there were a few names on your list whose passing I had not been aware of (Moon Martin, Andy Gill, Florian Schneider, Ivan Kral). Just adds to the general awfulness of the year 2020.

Man, what a list. And if your setlist included country music you would have had a long list of other luminaries to mourn too.

Yeah, that goes for me too. A second member of Uriah Heep died in 2020, who should've gotten a mention along with Lee Kerslake.

True. Quite a few listeners contacted me, saying I really should've included John Prine, because, darn it, he was such an important artist. No argument about that, but his music wouldn't have fit into my set.

A couple of listeners said I should've included Leslie West, but I already had completed & uploaded my pre-recorded show by the time his passing was announced. (Plus, I went back to listen to his stuff, both solo and with Mountain, and frankly, I didn't hear anything I liked.)

Prine is definitely one of those Americana/folk/whatever guys who has a lost of appeal to the alt.rock crowd, as is the great Billy Joe Shaver, who also passed, and Steve Earle's son Justin Townes Earle. They'd've made a good set together, but you're right - Prine wouldn't have fit into any of the sets you had already planned.

I'm guessing you just missed word of MF DOOM's passing.

Yeah, I found out about MF Doom's passing after I got back from the holidays. (I had to get my Christmas show and my end-of-year requiem show done about the same time, so I could upload them to the station and then leave for the holidays.)

Thank you for the memorial show, Delvin. The perfect cap to an otherwise soul crushing year.

As sad as all these passings were, I found comfort in the realization their art lives on for all to hear...
