I believe you also played "In a Perfect World" by Live Skull maybe a month ago. I remember flagging it as one of that show's highlights.

Yes, indeed - "In A Perfect World" was the show closer for 2020.10.13

I read "Beach Bunny" as "Bad Bunny" and was going to comment. (Bad Bunny is big in my house, BTW. He's also one of the biggest pop stars in the world now, apparently.)

Never heard of Beach Bunny.

Another cracker of a show, 801, starting from the leadoff track from Beach Bunny, all the way to the end. I'll add that band to my list of those to check out further, in addition to Miss Grit, Clearbody, She/Beast, Yung, and Sly Withers. I'm also sure you played that track by La Femme with its discussion of existentialist philosophy in French just for me.

And now to praise already famous bands, the new tracks from Maximo Park, the Hold Steady, Live Skull, Lande Hekt and Arab Strap were all outstanding. In fact you've now played three different tracks from Maximo Park's new album, and they're all great. It's just amazing how much great otherwise unplayed music is out there. Thanks once again for unearthing it for us mere mortals.

Thanks, Philippe.

You are correct about La Femme - and the wild banjo solo out of nowhere sealed the deal!

Last week certainly was wall-to-wall bangers...

Radio-friendly Sleaford Mods? Or is it edited? I love "Mork & Mindy" (the TV show but also the Sleaford Mod song) so gotta give this a listen

My show happens to fall outside the so-called broadcast 'safe harbor' and, as much as I hate to do it, I wind up making my own edits to get the songs out there. I'm not a big fan of beeps, bleeps or blanks though, so I employ the age-old process of "kcuf-ing" where the offending word is reversed and my program director stays happy...
