As I get older, I've tended to let a lot of the punk rock I listened to in my 20s go - it just doesn't move me anymore. Not Naked Raygun, though - I know plenty of people love them, but I've always felt that, in the grand scheme of things, they were the most underrated band in punk. (Pierre's brother's band the Effigies ain't far behind.) Such great songs and powerful attack, and Pierre was a key force in both the writing and playing. May he rest in peace.

Definitely agree with Michael. Raygun was one of the best punk bands to come along, and almost certainly the most under-appreciated. I first heard the band on Throb Throb -- a great record with tough, high-impact sound, and a handful of good tunes. That potential was fulfilled on the next NR record, All Rise. The band kept it up through their subsequent albums. Wish I'd gotten to see NR on stage. Rest in peace, Pierre.
