Steve Wynn Box Set

Not sure who the target audience is, but as a massive fan and a somewhat obsessed collector, I would rather this was a 3 or 4 disc set of just the demos & outtakes.

I think I’m going to pass on this. The price point may be right, but I just can’t justify repurchasing eight albums just to get 57 unreleased tracks.

I am trying to imagine how productively busy an artist has to be to have made 57 releasable but unreleased recordings in 10 years....

At one point, I was actively purchasing compilations like this in order to consolidate my collection. I had only so much room on my CD shelves, and being able to file a box set was a lot easier than having to decide what goes and what stays.

But now I've purchased more shelving, and have plenty of room to grow on, and the need to consolidate is much less urgent. Even though this also has a couple of comp records I don't already have, that makes this much less attractive. Plus if I want to listen to Tick...Tick...Tick (one of my favorite rock records by anyone of the past 20-odd years), it's much easier to pull it off the shelf by itself than dig it out of a box set.

That said, I do appreciate that this exists. Steve deserves the box set treatment.
