Dischord Records puts out very few new releases these days, but one of them is a 3-song EP by TK Echo. The band's singer/guitarist Chris Richards played in Q and Not U and is now a music critic for the Washington Post. But his current direction has headed away from post-hardcore towards the late '70s. "Fade My Mind" gets things off to a pretty gentle, pop-oriented start akin to DRUMS AND WIRES-era XTC. "Era" sounds angrier and more punk-influenced, somewhere between THIS YEAR'S MODEL and "Academy Fight Song," with cheap organ and Josh Blair pounding on his snare drum as hard as possible.
